Welcome to the Department of Computing!

COMP The Department of Computing of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong has the mission to provide high quality education in IT to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world.  In 2016-17, we launched the first Applied and Human-Centred Computing (BA-AHCC) degree programme in Hong Kong. Currently, our department offers more than 30 modules in many areas of computer science, including popular subjects such as  software development, artificial intelligence, database management, information systems, HCI, and financial computing.

Government Recognition and Support (SSSDP) for BA-AHCC Programme

JUPAS Code JSSH03 Applied and Human Centred Computing Our degree programme (BA-AHCC) has been selected as part of the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) by the HKSAR Government. A subsidy of up to HK$41,000 per academic year will be provided to all qualified Year 1 students admitted to the programme. The degree programme has received QF level 5 certification by HKCAAVQ.

B.A. in Applied and Human-Centred Computing (BA-AHCC) Degree Programme

Applied and Human Centred Computing BA-AHCC is a four years degree programme in applied computing. It emphasizes practical skills for the development of efficient and reliable software solutions. At the same time, the programme provides supplementary knowledge from graphic design, UX design and various application areas in order to develop students’ ability to produce human-centred software solutions that enhance the user experience with visual appeal, functionality and user-friendliness.

Deep Learning Research & Application Centre (DLC)

Deep Learning Centre Over the past few years, many major Internet companies have invested significantly in Machine Learning and Deep Learning technology. Our DLC centre aims to provide a cloud computing environment for deep learning, as well as being a hub for training, growing and nurturing specialists on deep learning and managing big data in HSUHK cloud computing environment.

IT Learning Centre

IT Learning Centre The IT Learning Centre aims at providing students with the knowledge, practical skills and an understanding of the processes involved in problem-solving using information technology. The Centre also provides IT workshops of various levels for students who are interested in uplifting their IT knowledge and ability.
